ARCHIPELAGO MONTREAL: Where did we get our name?

The first pieces of furniture created at our company were kitchen islands and so we needed a brand name that was suitable without being too specific. After thinking about what our brand represented: Hand crafted furniture, primarily kitchen islands at that time, made on the East side of Montreal (which itself is composed of various islands such as Laval, Boucherville, Nuns island etc) we had the idea that Archipelago MTL would work perfectly....Archipelago are of course 'a large group of islands' Montreal is itself an archipelago, and we were making kitchen islands! Our logo is simply the outline of the island of Montreal, with an added line across the middle to turn it into an A.
